2018 Annual Alumni Panel

OHIO Women in Business hosted their Annual Alumni Panel March 28th, 2018. Alumni from all different corners of the business field were gracious enough to take time out of their work day to talk to OHIO Students.

A big thanks to the keynote speaker Rhonda Curry from The Charlotte Hornets. She had incredible insight on how to manage and handle friendships and a job. Erin Mariner, VP of Finance, commented on how “authentic and inspirational’ Curry was.

The keynote speaker was the first part of the panel and lasted around 50 minutes. Next on the agenda was networking. All the attendees were broken up into three different groups. Each group would have roughly 30 minutes in each room with the alumni and then rotate onto the next room. Below lists how the rooms were broken up:

ROOM MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEMS/INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

  • Taylor Tatman - Deloitte

  • Taylor Chester - Deloitte

  • Ashley Dickinson - Deloitte

  • Lori Benz - Key Bank

ROOM FINANCE/ACCOUNTING

  • Morgan Meade - JLL

  • Amanda Browning - EY

  • Megan Wittman - Deloitte

ROOM MARKETING/MANAGEMENT

  • Hannah Gilky - People’s Bank

  • Kelly Mayer - Ohio State University

  • Sheri Sheffel - Ohio State University

  • Dianna Kenney - L Brands-Victoria’s Secret

  • Jordan Endres - Rocky Brands

All these women have graduated from the university in the past couple of years and begun their lives in the workplace. Students asked questions that ranged from work life balance to what you miss the most about Ohio University.

This was not just an event for business majors either. Jessica Costello, a sophomore majoring in journalism at Ohio University commented on the event, “This was a really enlightening event to attend and hear the business side of women in the workplace.”

Overall, OWIB wants to thank all those who attended the event, as well as all the Alumni that took time out of their busy lives to enlighten some college students with their knowledge.
